Go google hangouts

My family all has android phones while I have apple. Its a great way to video chat and faster than SMS texting them. The video app can bug out sometimes but other than that its awesome.

This app is amazing for all types of communications. It even has free local calling over wifi. ?

Love it its amazing I love just that sometimes when you can you cant hear the person properly but other than that its awesome

Its a good app (especially with the addition of "Answer on lock screen") but can the suggestions below (in order of priority) be added to make it more functional: 1) Block spam voicemails. The GV app blocks spam calls and voicemails but the hangouts app only blocks spam calls. It still lets the spam voicemails through! 2) Fix continued ringing after the other party has answered the call. Calls between GV numbers sometimes keep on ringing after the other party has answered which makes it impossible to hear them clearly! 3) Use the actual labels for phone numbers from the contact list. Currently it prioritizes numbers labeled as "mobile" and changes all other labels to "other" even if the contact list has labels like "work mobile" or "GV" which makes it very confusing when starting messages. 4) Move the option for listening to call audio on loudspeaker from a submenu to the main screen like the default iOS Phone app. 5) Organize messages from the same contact on to the same thread regardless of whether its from their different phone numbers or Hangouts profiles. The messages would then show up on one thread in time order. 6) Add ability to search content of Hangouts messages, GV SMS/MMS messages, and GV voicemails. Functionality is in Gmail but please add to Hangouts app. 7) Make an Watch app to answer/place calls and view/send messages. 8) Add ability to send and receive videos. 9) Add ability to reorganize favorites list. Also allow Hangouts to remember the favorites that are selected after logging out or updating the app.

My go-to for communication. Love that it maintains conversations from phone to computer and hooks in to my email account. Lots of functionality to make calls/hangouts and fun add-ons like stickers and such. Highly recommend.

It works with my iPhone and my android tablet!! Huge fan! Way easier than skype!

Great for chatting / texting, but Hangouts completely shuts down when Im "low on storage". In addition, HOW do I DELETE conversations, *not* archive them? THAT takes up a lot of unnecessary space! Thanks! :)

Its a great app for people who dont want or cant call using their phone. One of biggest issues is that it isnt compatible with YouTube. I mean, Google owns both products so why not let me watch YouTube whilst talking to a couple of my friends? Hopefully they see this and add it to their next update!

Im in the hospital right now abroad, using this app to communicate with my parents landline phone. Very useful!

I want to see them in the app not in another app or by clicking a link on my computer. In the app. In the same chat like the iPhone or regular text. Will remain 1 star until this is fixed.

My use is for business in countries where infrastructure is not great. This program does a better job than Skype at effecting a connection.

I use hangouts with a google voice number and iphone. I have had some trouble but i switched settings in voice and it fixed it.(involving forwarding calls to my iphone and using hangouts app on same phone) I like that you can sent text and it shows up with my phone number, unlike Googles allo. I can sent gifs unlike Googles voice app. And i can make calls to anyone unlike Googles duo. I can text or call from laptop, ipad or iphone. The issue is adding contacts. Great work around is to link my phone contacts to Google contacts. As soon as you add them into regular phone contacts they appear in hangouts. When i start a new text it shows my contacts with hangouts then my contacts not on hangouts, then everyone in the world. It is basically my virtual phone. You can also switch accounts which is great for my "home" google voice number which rings to all of our cell phones. Even the old one with no cell service but is on wifi laying around the house.

Super good for talking to other gmail users

I really like the function that hangouts would let you know if you missed a call during disconnection
