I have had this app for YEARS. I have fallen in love. We use this for texting eachother and it’s nice because we are 7th graders who don’t have phones so now we can communicate!!!! GET THIS APP

I download the app but I look at my home screen and it’s not there what do I do

Does not work with the iPhone even when you download Google Voice junk! Work if you have an android!!

Keeps the family in touch with up to 8 members video calls. The calls need a little work on quality.But Overall best Phone app out here.

Seriously. This app is awesome. For anyone who has Gmail but doesnt have a phone, or wants to chat with someone without a phone. You can video call inside the app, and it comes with screen-sharing! To top it off, it has a clean and bright look that fits in with the rest of google, and comes with plenty of fun stickers and even a few easter eggs hidden throughout. It is a free app that you can connect to the rest of google within. It is also highly accessible on most platforms. What else would a messaging app need?

I have had this appt for two months and keep uninstalling and reinstalling it. Sometimes the ring tone works and sometimes it doesn’t. Can you fix this problem for please. Thank you!

The classic definition of a buggy app. I used this religiously on Android devices and for some reason IOS does not like Hangouts. Sporadically the app does not allow me to take calls. It changes my settings behind the scenes and I have to remove and start all over again. I started with Google Voice to avoid text charges... Switched to Google Hangouts as Google Voice was long ignored now issues continue to recurr and now I must move on. Best wishes IOS users. Hopefully your usage of this app is more fruitful than mine.

Me and my friends used to use Skype and they would get the call 4 hours after I called them and then we found hangouts which is faster than Skype. Thank you Google

I got this app to talk to a friend I made online. The app worked perfectly fine until one day, it wouldn’t send my messages. I tried tapping the message over and over but it didn’t work. I’ve tried signing in and out of my account multiple times but that hasn’t worked either. My device and internet both work perfectly fine, so it’s not that. I don’t know if it’s just me having this problem but please fix it. I just want to talk to my friend.

my boyfriend and i depend on video chatting to see each other every day. with hangouts, the lag is awful and when he starts to say something, the audio cuts out. the texting feature is fine, but the video chat feature is A W F U L. i definitely don’t recommend this app unless you have really low standards for video chatting.

This is a great app! Our family uses it daily!

Sadly I’m not willing to download 2-3 apps for all the features that other apps manage with just one. So if Hangouts sticks around and keeps getting support I’ll continue to use Google for chat but if it gets dropped or forgotten I will not be downloading Allo, Duo and whatever the hell else. That’s just ridiculous. It’s no big deal for me to move on to something else if a company as big into tech and software as Google can’t even maintain a simple chat/voice/video app. They should have just cleaned this one up and revamped it instead of making a few separate new ones.

The multi tasking / screen sharing of iOS 11 is the biggest selling point of the new device ie. iPad Pro. Hangouts doesn’t play well / or at all, with others. Come on google, screen sharing is a must on bigger devices.

Hangouts is okay if you just want to text. I’m in a group chat for a project I’m working on but we can never call or video chat because I can’t get the microphone to turn on. It tells you to go to settings and turn it on but whenever I go there to try to turn it on, microphone isn’t one of the requested things for the app. It’s really annoying because I can’t talk to them face to face for the project. I have to do it on my computer which isn’t available most of the time because my family’s using it. Please fix this.
