None of my google contact info shows up in the app version of this app. In the web version on my desktop, all my google contact info is displayed, but in the phone app, its just a phone number with no name which is super inconvenient and confusing!

Not sure what this recent update has to offer....does not work as stated....sloppy update... --- - Need improvements to the dialer....the current design is dull and less intuitive... - Need deeper and seamless integration with the Contacts list to allow for automatic use of Hangouts/Google Voice, for international calls (like in Android) - Need better ring tone options...the ringer just doesnt work... - Need a conference call feature... - Need full blown sms features- message forwarding, international sms support, sharing Apple passes etc....

I think the app is great except it should be a different way out Im not really feeling the layout and now I think that the layout should be like iMessage other than that the app is great.

If you get a call when your phone is locked youre in for a lot of unnecessary trouble to try to answer it. In iOS 10 VoIP calls can integrate with Apples phone app. Why has Google not taken advantage of this feature and done away with the headache that Hangouts causes? On top of that enabling receiving calls is a hassle itself! Google needs to simplify things in Hangouts!

Im little confused because the new feature, answering from lockscreen, was already working from previous version. According to description, you can call using system-provided phone app, but how the heck do you do that?

Please merge all the Google messengers into one! Theres no reason why there should be 5+ different messengers and add-ons. Hangouts should handle media like WhatsApp. When you put a picture in full screen mode, you can view all the pictures a contact sent you. When you click on the all media tab, it gives you the option to view media, links or docs. Thats even better than the iMessage. WhatsApp, iMessage and Facebook Messenger shows a preview of all links. It would be great if Hangouts did the same. Add some of the Google Keyboard features to Hangouts for the people who dont use Google Keyboard. Google Docs should be integrated into Hangouts to easily share docs. This needs iOS callkit support and the ability to be launched on the Apple Watch.

Updating review from "Fail" to 5 stars because Google finally got around to implement iOS CallKit support (answer calls from lock screen). This app being made by Google, Im wondering though how long till they fsck it up or shut it down. Nothing good they create usually lasts. Im using Google Hangouts as my main phone on data only plan. So far I very much like it.

The new incoming/out going systems calling feature via Hangouts works great. I just wish hangouts would fix their voice message audio bug. When I play recorded messages through my iPhone they do not play through the speaker phone where I can hear them. On live voice calls, the speakerphone function works properly.

Been waiting a long time for the ability to answer from lockscreen.

You finally added Callkit integration, and yet still havent fixed the problem where, for those of us who use Google Voice as our carrier number voicemail, calling that carrier number means it goes through 4-5 rings on the carrier number, and then goes through another 4-5 rings after that on the Hangouts iOS app. And yes, Ive always had the "Go Straight to Voicemail" condition setup for all of my Google Voice forwarding phones for when I dont pick up. This has been an issue posted on Google forums since 2014 when Hangouts first had this integration with Google Voice, and yet it still has not been corrected. Very frustrating.

This app hasnt let me down yet. I cant tolerate Facebook, so this is a great alternative.
