It is not way to create a contact in the app if disabled contact access

Would be great if the app could display a VoIP number/be verified by a VoIP number from another service.

I use google voice as my primary phone number, so I use google hangouts a lot. Overall satisfied, but I cant add a new phone number from a call/SMS to my contact list. A very basic feature that has been missing for too long. At least give us a way to copy/paste the new number from hangouts so we can manually add it to our contact list.

Went from kinda usable to what everybodys been asking for!

Very happy to see incoming hangouts voip calls show up like a native incoming call! I do wish it wasnt so many taps to call a contact tho.

Not the best app in the world. You need to update the quality of the calls. I dont like to make calls on this app because of it.

You state that with this new update we can receive and make phone calls from the systems phone app. Since the precios update I was able to answer the calls from the system phone app, but how is that you make calls from the systems phone app??? Please let us know!!!

Useability of this app is greatly improved with CallKit integration! VoIP Hangout incoming calls are now practical. To make VoIP Hangout outgoing calls within Contacts, do a long press on either the Phone or Video button within the contact. Select the number prefaced with "Hangouts" to use Hangouts to call/video . Note that iOS remembers the last number/app you used this way and makes it the default for the button.

I was excited about the CallKit addition. It seems to work well if the phone is on and you are on the home screen. But if the phone is asleep, and a call comes in, it doesnt wake the phone up and ring.

I put one star off because this might be impossible but if we deleted a chat can we get it back.

Unlike Facebook Messenger, Hangouts is able to hide its bloated (and often excessively useless) features behind a sleek design that not only keeps it on my devices, but also gives me a tinge of excitement each time I hear its infamous "bwoung" notification.

I dont mind using Hangouts for chatting/voice/video communications. Works fine. I dont like that it takes multiple individual actions to delete a chat (or many chats). I DO NOT like the sheer volume of cold contacts I get from "people" pretending to be looking for love; or trying to move millions of dollars out of Africa; or sell me deep discount gold. Pretty much annoying to see the numbers of fake profiles and messages like that.

I can talk to friends and family from far distances in this. Amazing app❤️?

Why use your real phone system, when you can use this!

I wish -I could see the difference in people being available or away, yellow or green. -it had something to distinguish whether the person is on a video capable connection or not, like the camera showed in regular google chat. -I could choose whether to have the preview of what people write show or not. -There could be different sounds for different people or groups, like favorites.

Pinch/zoom feature is back! Everything works great now. Thank you so much! Very happy to know that you guys actually seriously listen to us and fix the issue. ??? ----------- Previous review: Please enable pinch and zoom feature back! A lot of people are going blind, especially when were sending pictures of documents. Cant read microscopic letters, so we have to save the pictures then pinch/zoom in Apples Photo app, to later delete them, making it very inconvenient and time consuming.

Update: Now with CallKit! Five stars! For a major release, where is CallKit? Time to start looking for a new messaging app

Great app that finally has CallKit. Adding CallKit makes it so much easier to answer calls now!!!! The only think its missing now is SiriKit. I wish I could say, "Hey Siri, call _____ on Hangouts."
